After the holidays I started attending a Beth Moore Bible study at my church. The study is called Believing God. I learned alot during the weeks I was in the group, but two things really stand out for me from that time. First, I truly felt the Lord telling me "It's time to move on" from unhealthy living. In the Bible this might be paralleled to "not living in your Promised Land".
Second, each day that I live a day of victory is a day to remember, cherish and thank the Lord for. Just as the folks in Alcoholics Anonymous do, remembering the number of days I've lived in victory is a way to keep motivated and stay on track.
I also enjoyed the five statements of belief in the study, which are:
1. God is who He says He is.
2. God can do what He says He can do.
3. I am who God says I am.
4. I can do all things through Christ.
5. God's word is alive and active in me.
Some great words of wisdom-- I think if I can keep these in mind, there will be many more days of victory to come!
